| Organization | The organization is a once off creation that will contain all your leagues over the many seasons you will run your leagues. A typical name might be 'My Basketball League' or '<your organization name>'sTennis League'. |
Created once only. |
| Leagues | For each season, you will create a league, e.g. 2006 Womens Open, 2007 Boys Basketball, etc. You could
also have many leagues current in a specific season. For example, you
might have both a girls basketball and a girls hockey. Each sport will
require its own league. At the end of the season, you can stage next seasons league based on the current season through a single click of a button. This will copy all the divisions, teams, content (rules, welcome, etc) for you into your new league. As a general guideline create one league per sport. |
Create one per sport type per season. |
| Divisions | Each league will contain one or more divisions. A division is a sub-categorization within a league. For example, in your 2007 Basketball League, you could
have the following divisions: Boys U15, Girls U15, Boys U13, Girls U13, etc. The system supports many types of divisions. In the team play division you will setup all your playing divisions (Boys U15, Womens 4.0, etc.). Other division types allow you to setup 'Registration Pools' so that players who do not have teams can register into pools and then be assigned to teams. Note a 'playing' division can also accept registrations, but this would be for new teams or players registering into existing teams in the division. Other categories you can include within a league, are an Executive Board that defines who administers (President, Division Coordinators, Protest Officials, etc.) your league. You can also create categories for Referees/Umpires, Coaches, etc. |
For each category in your league, create one. |
